Kaprow’s pieces, dubbed “happenings,” which were “spontaneous, non-linear action, revolutionized performance art. Capri, originally a painter moved into a type of art that dealt with the concept of space and its relationship to the viewers. in 1956, he wrote an essay titled “The Legacy of Jackson Pollock” which called for a shift in art, an end to what he referred to as “craftmanship” art. In his work, “Yard” he recreated a junkyard to present the idea that there was no diference between viewer and the work.
